Enrichment Activities give a spurt to the learning skills of a child. The child steps into an area of their interest, where creativity is unfettered. It is this interest that sustains the enthusiasm of students to put their best foot forward, academics or otherwise.

School Magazine

Every year, the Students Editorial Entity of IMPERIAL brings out a magazine.Students across classes are encouraged to submit original works of art, creative writing which include poems and stories, reports. The articles in the magazine also cover all the activities that happened in the school, in that particular year. The team members work closely with the faculty members and bring out an interesting edition at the end of the academic year.

Bulletin Boards

  • Bulletin boards are informative, entertaining, value based and thus have a holistic approach to the development of children.
  • The class bulletin boards not only enhance the knowledge of children but also bring awareness about significant international days.
  • Both teachers and students maintain the Bulletin boards.It is an enriching experience as the activities are challenging, develop healthy competitive and team spirit, and motivate contributors to give the best.
  • Bulletin boards not only add to the décor of the school but also become the measuring rod of achievement and excellence of everyone who is a part of the school. They also stand proudly as an index of school vision.
  • Guest Lectures

    What exercise is to the body, knowledge is to the mind. Just as variety and festivity adds spice to our routines, guest lecturers give a new dimension to hands-on learning experience. They supplement information and at the same time, break monotony. Frequent guest lectures are conducted by experts in various fields ranging from clubspersonality and culture enrichment, adolescent education, career counselling, and academic subjects. Lectures on nutrition from a dietitian, dental hygiene from a dentist and real time trading in the stock-market from a hard-core investor. These sessions transform text book matter into real life experiences.

    Excursions

    Field trips and excursions are conducted for classes I to XII. Primary school children are generally taken to nearby places. Students of the Middle school are taken to amusement parks or Nature trips .Students of class 7 are taken out on field trips that are enjoyable and informative as part of the club activity.High school children are taken to Art museums as part of art appreciation.

    Exhibition

    Students learn best by doing what they have learnt. Investigatory projects, scientific recording of observations,interactive science projects are some of the activities displayed during the science exhibition.

    Celebrations

    Cultural Fest

    In the beginning of every academic year, all the students are encouraged to participate in the “Cultural Fest”. Events and competitions include writing, debating, visual arts and fine arts. This caters to all skills and interests that children possess. Based on the performances and preferences, students are encouraged to participate in similar events offered during inter school fests.

    Festivals

    Imperial celebrates all National festivals and religious festivals. Festivals are celebrated irrespective of religion or caste in the country, bringing people closer and creating a strong bond of humanity. National festival of a country holds a great importance in the heart of its citizen. It is the occasion when people from all walks of life unite together under the blanket of nationalism and celebrate the festival with joy and integrity. It also helps to commemorate the hard work and sacrifices made by its citizen to build the nation.

    Annual Sports Meet

    Sports Meet is organised once in a year for the children to showcase their talent.

    School Day

    Varied themes, diverse talents, planning and execution of events, performing on stage in front of a huge audience are just some of the highlights of the school day celebration. Identifying talents in students and giving an opportunity to perform on stage is a challenging task. Teachers work tirelessly with the students and ensure enthusiastic participation in this gala celebration.

    Graduation Ceremony

    The graduation ceremony refers to receiving a formal degree in the academic career. In IMPERIAL, graduation ceremony is celebrated when Montessori Seniors step into Class I, 7th Student steps into High School and X students step into class XI or 1st PUC

    Interaction & Training

    Sahaayak – Resource Room

    The Resource Room, aptly called “Sahaayak” offers help in creating a child-friendly environment to support children having any learning difficulties from classes I to VII. The children are referred to the Resource Room by teachers or parents when they see any learning gaps in their children. The Special Educators working with these children, not only help them with academic work but also with any behaviour or emotional issues hindering their learning. They are supported in the areas of Reading, Spellings, Comprehension, Study Skills, Thinking Skills, Organising Skills and Behaviour Management. The children attend the Resource Room every Saturday from 10:30.a.m to 12:30.p.m.

    Counselling services in school

    In house counselling at school provide help for academic, behavioural and emotional difficulties. The sessions are held in the counselling room to ensure privacy to the students and their parents who wish to meet the counsellor. Common issues are dealt with in class with relevant inputs and presentations, providing support, crisis management and developing problem-solving and decision making skills are some of the areas of counselling and helping services.

    Parent- Teacher Interaction

    Parents play a vital role in their children’s academic, physical, social, emotional and moral development that it is important to have frequent interactions with the parents. This enhances the likelihood that quality learning dramatically increases in the classroom and at home with consistent parent involvement. Imperial strives to achieve this through regular Parent Orientation programs and Monthly Parent Teacher Meetings which

  • Enables parents to reinforce the skills, knowledge, habits, and priorities that we emphasize in class. This fact is especially true in situations where our teaching methods and approaches may differ from the norm and require parent follow-up on a regular basis.
  • Provides information about students’ strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, areas of special sensitivity, and any factors at home that are affecting school performance as Parents are in the best position to share such information.
  • Helps in earning parents’ confidence, trust, and respect. With open lines of communication, it’s unlikely that feelings of uncertainty, mistrust, and alienation will ever arise.
  • Career Resource Center

    There are innumerable options for students to realize their dreams and with the right guidance and support; this process can be rewarding and fun rather than stressful and taxing. At Imperial, students are educated about various career options through career counselling program, workshops that help them understand themselves, their interests and aptitudes; explore various career options and opportunities. What is a career and how it is different from a job, understanding the world of work, relevance of the subjects to career development. The students are helped to identify their interests and aptitudes using a standardized aptitude test.

    Teacher's Training

    Resource people affiliated to external organizations, conduct teachers training programs in the school. Teacher Mentors also regularly guide facilitators to prepare structured lesson plans, chalk out session plans and reflect on teaching practices.

    We have to take advantage of technologies and help school maximize outcomes by automating every aspect of Education such as Administration, Learning, Engagement and Communication. .Imperial provides a school platform to disseminate information in a timely manner to students/staff/parents.
